Shelfmark reads EPUB and CBZ with its own code — no external reader library, so nothing breaks when a CDN does. PDFs use the browser's viewer, or pdf.js when it is available for page flips and bookmarks. Search comes from Gutendex, loan lookups from Open Library, suggestions from your own /api/recommend endpoint.
